The CAD

Who can use the CAD

Inside a CAD, everyone is one of three things:

CAD roleWhat they can do
Read onlyWatch calls, units, the map and the radio, play voice messages, look people and plates up (police), and see Flock cameras. They cannot change anything.
OfficerEverything read only can do, plus: start a call, add notes, put themselves on a call and set their own status and callsign, talk on the radio, press the emergency button, post and clear BOLOs, write citations, arrests and warnings, and serve a warrant.
DispatcherEverything an officer can do, plus: edit, close and reopen any call, put any unit on a call (and tell them in the game), answer an emergency, add and recall warrants, void a record, place Flock cameras, and manage invites.

Your server's moderators and admins are dispatchers in every CAD, and helpers are officers. Everyone else gets in one of these ways, set up by an admin:

#By department rank

On the Departments page, each department can give each rank its own CAD access: read only, officer, dispatcher or none. Everyone on the roster with that rank gets it, without needing a staff role, and one person can be given different access in their row. For this to work, the member's Discord account has to be on the roster or their Roblox account linked to Uplink. A department's CAD follows its ER:LC team, so a Fire department opens the Fire & EMS CAD.

#By Discord role

On the Departments page, CAD access lets an admin pick Discord roles for the Police, Fire & EMS and DOT CADs. Anyone with one of those roles opens that CAD as an officer. For the Civilian CAD, picking roles means only they can register as civilians. Leave it empty and everyone in the server who is not already in a department can.

#By invite code

Dispatchers can invite people who are not in your Discord server's roles at all. Open a CAD, go to Invites, pick which CAD, the role to give (read only, officer or dispatcher), and make a code. You can choose your own code (4 to 20 letters, numbers or dashes), limit how many people can use it (up to 1000), ask to approve each person first, and add a welcome message of up to 500 characters. A server can have 50 codes. People paste the code into Join a CAD on their dashboard, and if you asked to approve them, their request waits on your Invites page until you accept or turn them down. You can remove a code or a person any time.
