What the bot makes
Press Set up channels for me in Settings, or /setup, and Uplink makes one private category and seven channels in it. The category is called Uplink. Only the owner, whoever ran the setup, and your admin, moderator and helper roles can see it. It reuses any that already exist with the same name, so running it again does not make copies.
| Channel | What goes in it |
|---|---|
#uplink-alerts | Alerts and connection problems, watchlist and banned players joining, kill sprees, mass bans and kicks, backup requests, new applications and appeals, and staff terminations. |
#mod-calls | Moderator calls from the game, and whether anyone answered. |
#cases | Every new case: warns, kicks, bans, jails and notes. |
#joins-and-leaves | Who joined and left, collected for a couple of seconds and posted together. |
#kill-log | Kills in the server. |
#command-log | Commands staff ran in the game. |
#shifts | Staff starting and ending shifts, leave requests and answers, and the weekly activity report. |
Each one starts with a banner that says what it is for. /setup can post the banners again. If a log has no channel, its messages go to the alerts channel when there is one, so nothing is lost.
#Channels you pick yourself
These are not made for you. Choose any channel in Settings under Roles and channels, or in the page that uses it.
- Sessions. Where session announcements go, and the shutdown report when it is set. The optional role to ping when a session starts is picked here too.
- Live status. A message Uplink keeps up to date every minute with the players, queue and staff online.
- Chat channels to lock. Up to ten, on the Sessions page.
- Notifications and departments. Each notification and each department has its own channel.
You can also point a log at a channel you already have, or turn it off. Uplink never deletes a channel, and you can delete the ones it made whenever you like.
