Approving Uplink to run commands

#What this is

ER:LC lets an app read a private server with its key, but only lets it run commands (kicks, bans, messages, teleports, auto reminders) after the owner of the private server says yes. That is ER:LC's rule, and every app that runs commands has to ask. It is done once for each private server.

Who is the owner? The Roblox account that owns the ER:LC private server. That is often not the person who runs the Discord server, so a Discord admin may need to send the link to the owner.

#The steps

  1. On the dashboard, open your server. On Overview, the Get set up list shows step 3, Approve Uplink to run commands, with a button: Authorize Uplink in ER:LC. The same box is in Settings and at the top of Announce.
  2. Not the owner? Press Copy a message for the owner and send it to them. The link is safe to share, because all it can do is let the owner approve Uplink.
  3. The owner opens the link while signed in to Roblox as the account that owns the private server, and approves Uplink.
  4. Back on the dashboard, press I approved it, check now in the same box. Uplink sends ER:LC a line for its command log, and the box says Approved and goes away when ER:LC accepts it. (Check connection and Test sending a command do the same, and show exactly what ER:LC answered.)

#Before it is approved

Nothing is broken. The live view, logs, cases, shifts and the map all work, and cases are still saved. Only the part that happens in the game is refused, and it says not authorized with a button back to this step.

#If it still says not authorized

  • Each private server has its own link. Use the link from that server's Settings page.
  • The Roblox account that opens the link has to be the one that owns the private server.
  • A page that says the approval link is not ready means the server's ER:LC key is missing or Uplink cannot build the address yet. Open Settings, check the ER:LC connection and copy the link again.
  • Still stuck? Press I approved it, check now and include what it shows when you open a ticket in the support server.

#A message you can send your owner

Copy and send
Hi! Our Discord server uses Uplink to moderate our ER:LC server. ER:LC needs the owner of the private server to approve Uplink once before it can run commands like kicks, bans and announcements. Please open this link while signed in to Roblox as the private server's owner and approve it: (paste the link from our Uplink Settings page here). It takes about thirty seconds and you only do it once.
