The CAD
Dispatch, calls and units
#Calls
The Dispatch screen is the live list of calls with the units on them. Calls come from four places: a player using the in-game 911 command (it shows up by itself with the people who answered it already attached), a dispatcher or officer starting one, a civilian on the phone, and the emergency button.
- A call has a type, details, a priority (P1 Emergency, P2 Urgent, P3 Routine, P4 Low), a place (postal and location), an optional pin on the map, and the department it is for (police, fire or DOT). Fire and DOT have their own list of call types.
- A new call is Pending. It turns Active when a unit is put on it, and ends Closed with a note on how it ended. A dispatcher can reopen it. Anyone on the call can add notes.
- A call from a civilian's phone has a chat with the caller. Dispatchers can reply from the call.
- Admins choose in Settings > CAD how long calls stay on the feed. Open calls with no change are closed by themselves after the time you pick (15 minutes up to 24 hours, or never), and closed calls leave the recent list. They stay in records.
#Units
Every player on a working team (police, sheriff, fire, DOT, and so on, but not civilians or people in jail) is on the Units list automatically, with the callsign from the game or their department. Their status is Available, En route, On scene, Busy or Off duty, and officers change their own. Putting a unit on a call makes them en route, and setting them back to available takes them off it. A unit who leaves the server or switches to civilian goes off duty by itself and comes off their call.
A dispatcher can put any unit on a call and tick tell them in the game to send that unit a private message with the call. Officers put themselves on calls.
#Map, vehicles and players
- Map. Units, calls, Flock cameras and everyone else in the server on the ER:LC map, live. Drag, zoom, click a dot, and pin or move a call.
- Vehicles. The cars in the server right now, with plate, model, colour and owner, and a flag on any with a BOLO.
- Players. Everyone in the server with their team, callsign, wanted stars, place, cars, and a flag for a warrant or BOLO. One press looks them up.
