Using Uplink

Startup and shutdown

Under the session controls, an admin chooses what Uplink does by itself when a session ends and when the next one starts.

  • Lock chat channels. Pick up to ten channels, such as game chat. They lock when a session ends and open again when the next one starts, back to exactly how they were. Your staff roles can keep talking. Uplink needs the Manage Roles permission for this.
  • Lift session bans. Choose Until the session ends as the length when you ban someone, or with /case ban session:true. When the session ends the ban is lifted, in Uplink and in the game. You can also lift every ban made during the session.
  • Send everyone off. It shows a notice in the game, waits for the time you choose, then kicks whoever is left. Staff in the game are left alone unless you include them.
  • A report. When it is done Uplink posts what it lifted, locked and kicked, and anything that needs a look.
  • :shutdown in the game. When someone types it, the session ends and the same things happen, even if you never started a session here. Nobody is kicked from Uplink, because the game removes everyone itself.
